Wen Guangyong, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and director of the equipment management department at Taishan Fiberglass Inc, is advocating for the high-quality development of vocational education at the third session of the 14th NPC, which is being held in Beijing.
Wen has established himself as an industry benchmark, starting out as an apprentice and becoming an expert in wire drawing machine maintenance, all through his relentless diligence and spirit of inquiry.
Over the past 20 years, Wen has put the spirit of craftsmanship in every detail of his work, leading or participating in over 70 technical innovations and process improvements.
He has received three national awards for innovation in the building materials industry and holds over 30 national patents, contributing significantly to the development of the enterprise.
Last year, Wen led a team to focus on automation and digitization at the front end, developing a centralized power control system. This system integrated data from various control points at Taishan Fiberglass Inc., ultimately achieving process integration and group control, reducing energy consumption by 13 percent and increasing personnel efficiency by 20 percent.
In his three years as an NPC deputy, Wen has been continuously monitoring and promoting the development of vocational education, noting the positive changes in the vocational education environment in recent years.
"The national attention to vocational education is increasing, and local areas are responding to national policies. Last year, I participated in a study on curriculum optimization at a fashion institute, discussing course offerings based on practical needs to match education with industry demands, which has profound significance," said Wen.
