The seventh day of the seventh lunar month, known as Qixi Festival, marks the annual revival of a distinctly Eastern expression of romance. While often referred to as “China’s Valentine’s Day,” the occasion is also observed in multiple countries across Asia. Though customs vary by region, each celebration reflects profound influence from Chinese culture and preserves the ancient tradition of Qiqiao — the practice of praying for exceptional skill in needlework and craftsmanship.
